Tutorial(001) Installing VWD Instructions from SuperDev DVD

    1. Put SuperDev DVD in drive, and view in Windows Explorer.

    2. From the '<DVD>\VS2K5 Express\' folder install the following:
      a) Windows Installer 3.1\WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
      b) Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0\dotnetfx.exe
      c) SQL Server Express 2005\SQLEXPR.EXE
        - On the Registration Information step, uncheck 'Hide advanced configuration options' to customize installation.
        - Change what is installs so everything is installed.
        - On the Server Account step, check the 'SQL Browser' box.
        - On the Authentication Mode step, select 'Mixed Mode'; Enter a password (you'll remember) for the sa logon.
        - On the User Instances step, uncheck the 'Enable User Instances' box.
        - Complete the install.
      d) SQL Server Express 2005\SQLServer2005_SSMSEE.msi
    3. *** RESTART *** your computer to start SQL Server

    4. Install <DVD>\!Mount ISO\winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel_21.exe:
      - Extract the files to a folder called c:\vcdrom
      - Follow the instructions in the c:\vcdrom\Readme.txt.
    5. Install Visual Web Developer Express:
      - Run c:\vcdrom\VCdControlTool.exe and mount the <DVD>\VS2K5 Express\ISO\VWD.iso
      - From the newly mounted ISO CD drive e.g. z:\ run Setup.exe to install VWD.
      - Unmount VWD.iso/z:\ drive
    6. Install VWD SQL Server Reporting Addin by running <DVD>\VS2K5 Express\SQL Server Express 2005\SQLServer2005_ReportAddin.msi

Now your are ready to start making ASP.NET websites, with SQLServer backends, including SQL Server 'Report Services' Reports.

Or from VS2008ExpressENUX1397868.iso, installing SQLExpress first ...

Run the ... Setup.exe from in the VCSExpress\WCU\dotNetFramework folder.

Run SQLEXPR.EXE from the VCSExpress\WCU\SSE folder and then follow the instruction above in step 2.

Make sure IIS is installed then use the default install process for your VS2K8 products.
